Stop feeling down!

Advice For Being Positive

I’m sure you will have been there at some point in your life…when every single thing feels wrong! In 2013 I experienced a very low point as a result of various factors but found light at the end of the tunnel and wanted to share some inspirational (hopefully!) tips with you.

Not every single thing is wrong

Although it probably feels that way, not every single part of your life is wrong. For me, at one point in 2013, there were issues in 90% of my life but I had a loving and supportive Mum & Dad as well as good health – so focus on these things whilst the other bits eventually work themselves out.

Try and think of something positive in your life every day, no matter how small

…this could be a good day you have had at work or a yummy dinner you have made yourself.

This won’t last

I would say this is the most important thing to remember. Most things in life tend to be temporary and whatever you are feeling right now, it will pass. It is true that time is a great healer, although at times you won’t believe that. Concentrate on things one day at a time and don’t be phased or transfixed on the future.

You are in control

Whatever you are feeling, it is usually a result of a person or an external factor, but only you have the power to control how you react to it. Again this is difficult, I know – I have been there – but you can control your day ahead with positive thoughts when you wake. Although you may not be able to change a situation, you can change how you deal with it and concentrate on the small things that you can control. For me, as a single woman and homeowner, I knew I could control my finances and career so focused on that as the time passed.

This really won’t matter in a few years

Honestly, you will look back and just see this phase as just something you went through. Keep telling yourself that whatever is going wrong now is actually only a small part of your life. There will also be many good things that happen in between too :)

You are strong

If you are feeling blue, you have most likely been through the worst! It may be shock of a financial difficulty or the loss of a loved one which has happened already, so just keep telling yourself you can get through this. For years I feared being alone and single, but one morning I woke up and thought ‘I am in my 30′s single…and it’s actually ok!’. I felt proud and inspired that I was actually doing this. One day, you will feel this too – I promise x
