For those of you who know me, you will be fully aware of how much I love Primark! When the Primark opened in the White Rose shopping centre near me about 5 years ago, I started buying the majority of my outfits from there. The variety of styles and materials available is great, and it gets better every season, with new products launching such as bags, iPad covers and gorgeous homeware.
My friends ask me how I manage to find the pieces I do, but it’s easy to do when you go at certain times when it is less busy. I find very first thing in a morning or about 40 mins before it closes are the best times. This is when the sales assistants are tidying current stock up (making it easier to find) and bringing out the fresh stock on rails too. I find it easy to pick out the items I want, and do have an eye for what pieces will create an outfit for a certain ocassion.
Last Saturday, I ventured into my local store towards the back end of the day and found some amazing bargains for £5 each!
My favourite is the tub midi skirt which actually showed up as £3 at the till! To me, this is new season not last, as tropical floral prints are big for SS14 so I have no idea why this is reduced, but I’ll take it This skirt is so versatile; team it with bare legs, heels and a cami for a night out or dress with a fluffy black knit and thick black tights with ankle boots for a smart day look that can take you from work, to shopping, to meeting friends.
Next up was a black waffle-knit skater dress for £5, reduced from £13. I’m in love with the fitting of this. Again, an item I can wear on a weekend or to work, dependant on the accessories I dress it with. There were many sizes available too – I got a small one as I wanted the waist to be fitted.
I also found a black leather-look tunic for £5. I wasn’t sure how this would look as it didn’t seem to have much shape to it; almost square. But once I got home and tried it on, I loved it. This looks really nice with some tight black leggings and knee high boots. It is quite a loose fitting, but I like it. Throw on a chunky cardigan and it’s the perfect Sunday lunch outfit.
Finally, I bought a burnt orange blouse. Although the style was just ‘ok’ I had been searching for a top this colour for over a year, so when I saw it for £5 I had to buy it! It goes perfectly with the floral skirt I bought and I have some lovely floral maxi skirts for Spring which will work well together.
