Tonight I attended a fashion bloggers event in Leeds at Oaks Boutique. I was so impressed by how it was organised; they promoted it well on Twitter and created an invite only event on Facebook.
I arrived at 6pm after work and the hosts made me feel very welcome, offering me a drink and to browse the collections at my leisure. Although the boutique was fairly small, the layout was perfect. There were around 6 rails of clothes all ordered in colours rather than styles – which is just how I organise my wardrobes!
I obviously went straight to the pink/nude rail. There were so many gorgeous items; I was shocked to see so many beautiful and unique products. The varying textures and styles were what I loved most as I like to wear things that are a little different such as these. Very feminine and super stylish.
I picked a few outfits I loved and headed for the dressing rooms. How beautiful are they by the way?! The first item I tried was a classic black dress. They had many styles but I opted for a skater style one with a beautiful sweetheart neckline. It had a black lace overlay so looked ultra feminine and something I could dress up or down for day and evening.
My favourite item though was the middle one pictured above – a super bright floral print which will be a big hit for SS14. This was a tunic which looked fab with black tights and ankle boots.
Finally, I tried a lilac sweater which had a silk lilac underlay. I love how different this is, yet on trend with the pastel colours. They had this in many, many colour options too all for a reasonable £30.
It was a fab event and we were totally spoilt with the goodie bags that contained sweets, a blue leopard print scarf, a black purse and a stunning gold bracelet.
Overall, I am very impressed and will definitely be popping in on my lunch hour
It was hard to choose my three favourite items though, so here are some pics of the other items I loved…
