As you all know, I love a bargain! Whether it’s something for the home, makeup or clothes. I’ve always had a nosey at clothes in Asda and have bought a few items over the years, but the products they have had this year have just blown me away! In this post I wanted to talk about some of the top picks and how you can create the perfect outfit at a fraction of the cost of high street and designer brands.
It was at the back end of summer 2013 when I found and purchased a few pairs of socks, tights and some gorgeous black ankle boots – all for under £20 at George! The quality was really good and the textiles wore really well.
In the recent months I went on to buy many items, including some of my faves below. I have detailed below the different ways in which I wear them so you can see how versatile they are
This stunning dress is in stores now and the moment I saw it I knew it was perfect. Very figure flattering and fitted better than very expensive dresses I had tried on elsewhere. This was a steal at £16! It’s going to be my works Christmas outfit, teamed with some sparkling earrings and some high black ankle boots. What I love about this dress which other party dresses fail to acheive, is that I can wear this to family gatherings and dress it down with black, flat knee high boots or simple leopard print pumps and a fur or leather jacket.
Also in store now, this jumper is great for a day at work with black jeggings or wax coated jeans; or for a girls shopping trip with a black faux leather skirt, thick black tighs and flat boots. It has a tiny bit of sparkle to make you feel festive, but not too much that it limits you to wearing only during the festivities.
Tartan Plum Skirt
When tartan hit the high street this year, I wasn’t too keen. But being the fashion lover that I am, I wanted to try it out and this was the perfect item. It was around £10 and has subtle plum and black tarten that is very easy to wear. I wear this to work with thick black tights, black ankle boots and a tight fitting black jumper. It’s just the right amount of tarten and looks so classic I will wear it into next summer.
There are so many other items I love at George, like their onsies that are in a soft cottton rather than fluffy so much easier to wear; their long hooded dressing gowns which are super cosy; the jewellery which is around £3 for earring multipacks (loving their rose gold collections) and their AW13 coats.
I’ve been trying to get hold of their ‘Tickled Pink’ pale pink coat which I tried on in a siize 8 for only £25 yet for some silly reason didn’t purchase; only to find it’s now completely out of stock. Gutted. This pink coat was so different to all the others I have tried which aren’t fitted, it had buttons and a fit that was so ladylike it’s my biggest non purchase regret.
