In October I received a very exciting email from my contact at Liz Earle; an invitation to the store opening in Leeds!
I have lived and worked in Leeds for over ten years now, and just love the Victoria Quarters for a relaxing shopping trip on a Sunday afternoon. I was so excited to hear a Liz Earle store was opening in this shopping complex, as I have seen photographs from Liz Earle stores nationwide and they look so lush.
The store opening happened at 6pm on Thursday 25th November, 2010, however my invitation was from 5pm with fellow bloggers where we were treated to an intimate chat with Liz, a guided tour of the store, a sneak peak into new products and of course champagne and cupcakes!
With me were: Dainty Dolly Mix, Missy Ellie UK, Mac Junkie 09, Sparkle and Shade and Nicoletta’s Beauty Space. It was so great for me to meet such lovely, friendly fellow beauty bloggers and I hope to see them very soon!
When we first arrived, we were handed a gorgeous wicker basket and were invited to browse the store and choose any 5 products we wanted to try. So, I went along with Jennifer (Botanical Research Manager) who kindly helped me choose my 5! As I have Cleanse & Polish and a range of their skincare, I wanted to try something different.
I have been reading reviews of their new SLS – free Shampoo and Conditioner so they were first in the basket! I was then told about the new Botanical Bodycare range and tried some on my hand. The smell was so fresh, strong and uplifting – I loved it! So, I treated myself to the Body Wash and Body Cream. Finally, as I am still suffering with a few hormonal blemishes I opted for the Spot On treatment. All products are amazing, luxurious and the most natural you can get. I will be writing seperate reviews on each of them…starting with the haircare which is out of this world!
Following the shopping spree, we joined the one and only Liz Earle for an initimate chat in the library area of the store. Whilst our bags were guarded by security, and the camera man filmed away, Liz talked to us about the new store, product development, community work and much, much more. Liz is a truely wonderful woman, and an inspiration to us all. It was great to meet her and talk about the products we use and what is best for us.
I managed to get a cheeky little photo with Liz whilst she signed a copy of her wonderful Skin Secrets book which I intend to read in relaxing baths over the coming weeks!
Finally, we were informed of a new product which isn’t launched until 27th December. It’s an energising body lotion which smoothes, firms and tones. The active ingredients include damask rose flower water, sweet orange oil and vitamin E which all offer the perfect solution to skin which is in need of a little uplift. Liz informed us that it can be used all over the body, not just the thighs which usually need a little helping hand – so I will be trialling mine on my arms and bust too I think! The launch time is perfect for after Christmas after we have all eaten and drunk far too much!
