Today, I want to rave about my favourite fast fashion brand Select Fashion. I first visited one of their stores when it opened in White Rose Shopping Centre, Leeds a few years ago. I initially opted for some basic black leggings and a few vest tops. As the years commenced and my shopping trips increased, I noticed the window dressing of Select get more and more on trend, with a lot of pieces appealing to me. Now, I tend to sway towards this over any other store in the White Rose when I want a quick fashion fix.
The quality of their clothing is surprisingly strong; I wash and wear some textured black leggings week in week out and the quality has not deteriorated in the slightest. In terms of fit; also great. I am a size 10 in their dresses, trousers and skirts yet a 6 on their tops as they are quite large/loose in fitting.
So far in 2014, I have picked up some amazing bargains which are so versatile I can wear them to work or casually on the weekend. My fave so far are the printed palazzo trousers featured on the collage above. These were only £12 and were made from what looked to be soft and comfortable material – and I was right! So comfy and the elasticated waist helps too for the weekend when I tend to sit and eat – a lot! They look equally good with wedges or flats. I teamed mine this weekend with one of their basic long sleeve tops for £8 which I have quite a few of now! Pale blue is my current go to colour, but the black and the grey ones are super easy to just throw on with almost any outfit – tucked in or out they look fab. Check out my Instagram to view my OOTD’s which often feature Select products.
Select sent me their SS14 lookbook this week which I have thoroughly enjoyed browsing – and believe me, there’s some great things hitting the shelves soon. To give you a little taster; one of the trends is floral and a popular print they will be showcasing appears on the collage I have created above. The floral dress to the far left will cost £15 and has the most beautiful shades of green and orange in the print. I cannot wait to get my hands on one A lot of their SS14 collection is available online here.
This got me to thinking, I want to spread the word about this great store as I feel sometimes it slips to the background behind the likes of Primark and New Look – but it really shouldn’t. The quality is very high and the range wide. So, below I have listed my ultimate wish list for this month from Select.
From left to right:
Black Wedge Boots, £18 – I have these in leopard print and black – comfortable, stylish and fab with dresses or jeans
Floral Satchel, £12 – This bag fits in pretty much everything you need for work and play, whilst keeping you in style
Orange Vest, £6 – There are 10 shades available. I would team this with my palazzo pants or skinny jeans
Floral Tube Skirt, £10 – The best fitting tube skirts ever! Wear for work with a blouse or to go out with a vest and heels
Chain Necklace, £6 – If your outfit feels plain, just add this necklace to brighten it up; flattering colour for a bold impact
Printed Palazzo Trousers, £12 – Long, comfy, stylish and the easiest item to throw on with a vest or sweater and flats
Pink Jacket, £14.99 – I adore the texture of these lightweight jackets and they smarten up any dress or basic jean outfit
White Jelly Shoes, £6 – Finish the feminine floral look whilst adding a touch of on trend style
Select Fashion is now available online, and is a very easy to use site. They often have offers available such as sales and free delivery and their delivery service which I have used twice now is efficient and fast. I like that you can shop by trends and ‘back in stock’ as well as view their most recent lookbooks for inspiration.
