Hi all – I have been working with the Tria Beauty team ad have an exciting guest post from them. Enjoy!
Beauty Tips from Beyond the Grave
When my grandmother died she left a number of small personal bequests in the form of keepsakes. To my aunt, her only daughter, she left a mirror, along with a note. It was a full length mirror and the dearly departed suggested my aunt might want to hang it close to her door so that she could check herself more thoroughly before leaving the house. It was one final salvo in a lifelong attempt to get auntie to take her appearance a little more seriously. Thankfully, my aunt is well armed with a thick skin and a sense of humour, or this post mortem last word might have hurt. Laugh as we all did at the old matriarch’s determination to have the last word; it was a reminder that for women of any generation, appearance matters. That last check before leaving the house is essential and although some women (the aunt being one) have the guts to go ‘oh bugger it’ not everyone does. For some the struggle to keep up appearances is more of a battle than others, and one area that most women share is the battle against unwanted hair. Today, many will be pleased to hear, there is a solution and a permanent one at that.
Towards the Light
Laser hair removal has been with us for some considerable time. Perfected over the last twenty years the technology has proved effective at removing hair permanently. The biggest downside is that it is a costly process. Salon laser treatments are available for any number of problem areas, but a number of treatments are required. For many women the expense is the main barrier to laser treatment. Facial hair, in particular, can be distressing for women and laser treatment is the most effective solution. This kind of treatment is relatively quick and it is one of the cheaper options. For those looking for larger areas of hair removal, the costs and the time taken to affect a thorough and permanent solution are usually higher and lengthier.
Why the cost?
Hair grows in three stages and individual hairs pass through these stages at different times. The simple fact is that one treatment will only remove some of the hairs, leaving the general area still showing hair growth. Periods between sessions will vary depending on the part of the body being treated; although laser hair removal is safe it’s important to have rest periods between treatments. In addition, some hair will require longer periods of treatment as it is of a coarser texture to others. Unfortunately, laser hair removal is not suitable for all skin or hair colours. Dark brown and black skin is not suitable for treatment, as it contains the same pigment found in dark hair. This pigment, melanin, is what the laser targets and this means that suitable hair needs to be dark, and skin mid or light in tone.
Home Comfort
It is only this century that the latest, and best step, in laser hair treatments have been developed. Finally an effective home laser treatment is now available on the market. Tria laser reviews demonstrate that this product, which looks like nothing scarier than your average hair dryer, is easy to use, cost effective and offers permanent solutions. Models like the Tria Beauty laser hair remover include safety features which ensure that they only operate if your skin and hair are of appropriate colours. In terms of cost the home laser systems are highly competitive compared to the average salon treatment. Like salon treatments you will need to undertake a course of treatments. The initial cost of a home system is around the same as a course of treatments for a bikini line, however, this is a one-time cost and the home laser can be used to deal with all or any areas that you need to treat, over as long as you need to treat them at no additional cost. All of this is, naturally, completed in the comfort and privacy of your own home. If my grandmother had been around when this technology was available she would certainly have invested. She’d no doubt have left it to my aunt with a note saying “the lip dear, the lip”.
For most women appearance matters; with the introduction of a laser that allows permanent hair removal at home, perfection is a step closer.
