I do love a good fake tan. I’ve used St Tropez for years and loved how natural it looks…and for those months where i’m penny pinching the £3 St Moriz is (dare I say it) just as good. Yet, after a girly shopping trip with my best friend Amanda, I was introduced to Beyond Bronze by Fake Bake in a local Boots store. And this is now my new fave.

I bought the spray version in a can as I like an easy application with instant colour. It was on offer for £13 which was a great saving as it’s usually around £20. The range includes shimmer blocks, instant wash off formulas, lotion and mousse.

I bathed and dried myself thoroughly, then applied Nivea moisturiser on my elbows, knees, feet and hands – just because I tend to get rather dry there. I then started by spraying onto my face…it gave a lovely rose gold, brown colour straight away that covered all flaws and made me look like I had foundation on. I was very impressed immediately. So, I then sprayed all over my body. It was easy to apply and I didn’t need to rub it in…just spray. And I didn’t need to take too much care into how close I sprayed – near or far the product left the same level of intensity.

The smell was one of the many loves I have for this product. The only fake tan which doesn’t smell of biscuits or chemicals. It smells really fruity and sweet; very lovely. The kind of product I have applied in the morning before work and left on without being left with a nasty smell.

Then the fact that it dries instantly; not just in one minute, instantly. This meant I could get dressed (well put my PJ’s on!) straight away and climb into bed. Perfect application! The next morning I bathed and the guide colour washed off, but didn’t leave as much colour in the bath as the other tanning products. Very impressed.

The most important factor to fake tan though is how it looks and lasts. This product wins on both accounts. The colour is so natural, like i’ve had one week in the sun. A rose coloured bronze – beautiful. The tan stayed with me for about 10 days and I made sure I didn’t go to special effort moisturising, scrubbing or trying to maintain it. It very gradually fades and is easily topped up again by a little spray on your face, chest and arms.

I love it, have you tried it yet? Not sure what has taken me so long! Thanks Manda! x
